We are always looking for partners who want to give back to our community in ways that develop tomorrow’s promising talent and leaders. Getting involved may include recruiting students for jobs and internships through the UNT Career Center on the Denton campus or through the UNT at Frisco Career Center. Career fairs, networking events, on-campus interviews, speaking in classes, hosting a scholarship, investing in faculty research, or sponsoring a project-based learning experience are also ways to bridge the gap between academia and students' time after graduation.

Guest Speaker

Guest lectures add to the value of student instruction by offering real-world experiences. All courses within the Department of Multidisciplinary Innovation leverage the real-world experience of industry and academic experts by inviting them as guest speakers. The guest speakers are selected based upon their disciplinary expertise and potential contribution to the learning outcomes. Guest lectures help students develop a comprehensive and current perspective on specific industries or job profiles. In addition, interaction with the guest speakers serves as an excellent networking opportunity.

Hosting a Scholarship

Investing in students’ learning opportunities is critical to many students at the University of North Texas. Departments also offer opportunities to provide financial assistance to eligible students and can be based on academic merit, talents and abilities, fields of study, members of particular groups, or those demonstrating financial need. Hosting a scholarship can be a great way to provide a direct investment in students seeking to further themselves and their industry or community.

Investing in Faculty Research

Faculty in ACS are clinical faculty, meaning that faculty collaborate with industry or non-profit partners in the development and implementation of student projects. Oftentimes, this leads to multidisciplinary applied research projects. Investing in faculty research can be a great way to bring industry and academia into alignment.

Sponsoring a Project-Based Learning Experience

Sponsoring a PBL experience allows companies to work alongside faculty and students in a mentoring capacity. Students help companies explore and find solutions to real projects and current needs that the industry and communities face. This can also lead to student placement in internships or jobs after having the opportunity to evaluate students in an active project.
UNT’s ACS is always looking for new and innovative partners for our students. If you are interested in knowing more about being a community or industry partner, we would love to visit with you more about the opportunity
