All College of Applied and Collaborative Studies (CACS) students are encouraged to complete internships. Three CACS degree programs require an internship, but internships have significant value as authentic professional experiences that get you hired, regardless of whether they count as academic credit toward a degree plan.

Students can earn between one and six credit hours for each internship. Students should work with their academic advisor to determine the number of hours that they should enroll in to complete their degree plan.  Because internships are specific and unique, students must meet with Ana White, the CACS Director of Advising, who can ensure that the internship aligns with their program and graduation goals.

Program specific internship requirements can be found through the links below. All internships used for academic credit should align with degree program curriculum and student career goals and must be approved by program directors. All students are encouraged to submit information about their planned internship via Handshake; however, students hoping to receive academic credit for their internship are required to submit their internship through Handshake prior to the beginning of the term in which the internship is being completed.
